Get to know our team better by asking us questions, one serious & one frivolous, read their answers below:-
Q1: Why did you choose your market sector/ what do you like about the area in which you recruit?
Q2: If you really knew me, you’d know…..
Adam – Principal Consultant – Technology Sales Division
A1: I chose my particular vertical (Technology Sales) because of the pace of the industry. There are always new developments, products and companies launching within the space meaning it’s never boring. The sales element means I’m always meeting/speaking to interesting people and it keeps me up-to-date with 90% of today’s technological advancements.
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know that I’m a passionate fan of the beautiful game and a devoted father of 1 who is happy to go out of my way to help others.
Alessandro – Senior Consultant – Technology Division
A1: I started out focusing on C# which will always be my first love however my work has organically shifted towards the Data Science spectrum. This is partly down to client demand and also due to Data Science being a key growth area within London and beyond. An understanding of data is absolutely critical for today’s technology centric companies and there is an abundance of gifted, wacky and wonderful data scientists who can extract meaning, develop insight, facilitate cost reduction and generate revenue through utilising and developing novel and complex data analysis methods. I can see myself continuing to learn and work within this area.
A2: If you really knew me you would know that I can’t touch velvet or suede.
Andrew – Researcher – Technology Division
A1: I chose to specialise in Digital Design because I enjoy viewing the work and portfolios that excellent designers produce. Also, I find it interesting when designers discuss and present their work to me because most of them are so passionate about what they do.
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know that I have fantastic taste in music.
Charlie – Senior Consultant – Technology Division
A1: I like working with passionate, forward thinking technologists who strive to keep up-to-date with the latest trends and updates in the market; from a recruitment stand point, it’s important to keep informed. I know that if I’m working with someone who is genuinely passionate about development, they’re going to properly appreciate the career opportunities I convey to them and this really shows in the interviews. Go is a language that is really up and coming and although it has been out since 2012, I feel like people are only just really taking it under their wing and coming to realise the positives of using such a language. Many businesses from small to large across the globe in the last 12 months or so have factored Go into their technology team in one way or another. It’s nice to both watch and be a part of a technology growing into something much more widely used.
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know I love Galaxy ice creams.
Gary Co-Founder & CEO
A1: I work with the teams and each consultant across all sectors.
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know that I’m addicted to biscuits.
Hareesh – Consultant – Technology Division
A1: Since the day I bought my very first iPhone 3g back in 2009, I have always been a fan of the App Store and it’s been a pleasure to watch how mobile applications have evolved over the years. Luckily, I joined ThinkersConnect, who share my vision of the Mobile App market which has enabled me to specialise in the recruitment of iOS and Android developers. The reason for choosing this particular area of the market is because more and more start-ups are emerging from the scene, with awesome ideas that help make life that little bit easier, I believe that the mobile market has only just begun (relative to the time it has been around) and I am truly excited to see where it will take us in the next 10 years. The best thing about working in this area is that I get to speak to the developers and CTO’s of these companies, allowing me to get a clearer insight into the way these apps are created and it’s pretty amazing if you ask me.
A2: If you really knew me you would know how much I love vegetables – especially red cabbage!
Jason – Senior Consultant – Technology Sales Division
A1: I chose the Technology Sales vertical due to working with clients who are at the forefront of innovation. It’s fascinating to watch how these people have influence over and are changing how we live and work in everyday life. Alongside this, the candidates / clients are extremely switched on and intelligent people which makes liaising with them constantly interesting.
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know – I love cycling.
Luke – Researcher – Technology Sales Division
A1: I started out in the Tech team at Thinkers Connect but quickly made the switch across to Technology Sales, with a predominant focus on consulting at an enterprise level, as I was really excited by the prospect of talking with senior salespeople on a day to day basis. I love working in this area as candidates tend to be extremely personable and there’s a need for us to be a bit more consultative ourselves when speaking with people in order to understand their wants and needs. Plus, salespeople love discussing the state of the market as a whole – especially in mind of the impact that this has on their plans, ambitions and earning potential – which is obviously a huge benefit to us in ensuring that we are as familiar as possible with the sectors that we specialise in!
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know that Gareth Bale once borrowed a pair of my Hudson brogues… At no point did he bother to say ‘thank you’ though!
Maddy – Senior Consultant – Technology Division
A1: As a recruiter who specialises in Senior Appointments, on a day to day basis I get to speak to highly skilled technology professionals, who have garnered a wealth of experience across a range of interesting jobs, industries and projects. What I love is how different each conversation can be, and how passionate everyone is about what they’ve achieved in their careers so far. It’s also really inspiring when I get to work with Directors and Managers who are genuinely passionate about giving something back. Often I get to hear how much they have positively impacted the development of the more junior members of their Scrum team by using their experiences within Agile software development environments to teach and mentor. There’s also a great deal that I get to learn, as well, not only on a technical level but in terms of business, too!
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know I’m a classically trained singer and that I speak French following a 2 year stint living and working in Paris.
Matt – Senior Consultant – Technology Division
A1: I chose Design and Development as they are both areas that interest me personally. I enjoy the challenge of finding the best Visual and UX Designers out there and going through their work, and then presenting it to my clients knowing that they will be impressed. Equally with developers it’s exciting to hear about the new technology constantly being produced and discuss how this will change the tech world. Ultimately designers and developers seem to have a passion for what they do more than most people I have spoken to since working in recruitment, and this helps to keep me interested in what I do.
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know that I love cooking and used to be a chef.
Ross – Head Of Technology Sales
A1: Prior to recruitment I was working in business development so there was a natural transition in terms of my skillset and, more importantly, a genuine interest in the world of sales. I quite quickly carved a niche within Enterprise Software as I have a passion for how technology can help businesses grow/evolve. In addition, me/my team recruit senior appointments which requires a strategic ‘consultancy based approach’ – true headhunting!
A2: If you really knew me, you’d know that I’m a bit psychic…
